To make your cleaning products you don't need lots of fancy things.  I buy my spray bottles at the Dollar Store.  When buying oils though - make sure you are buying Essential Oils and not Synethic oils.  I use Tisserand Oils from the UK but any good essential oil will do.  You can buy oils at Health Food Stores, Online or sometimes at markets.
For an everyday cleaner that cleans, disinfects and gets rid of bacteria:

Mix into 1 quart water:
3 drops Rosemary
5 drops Lemon
3 drops Eucalyptus
4 drops Tea Tree
5 drops Lavender
Shake well and put into a spray bottle. Shake before each use.

For Sparkling Windows:
8oz White Vinegar
11-15 drops of Lemon oil
24oz Water
Mix vinegar and water in spray bottle.  Add essential oil.  Shake before each use.

For toilet bowl cleaner:
1 1/2 cups baking powder
1/4 cup salt
1 cup white vinegar
10 drops Tea Tree Oil

Put baking soda, salt and oil into toilet bowl.  Slowly add vinegar.  Leave for 10-20 mins.   Flush!

Put a few drops of your favorite oil onto the cardboard of the toilet roll holder.  My guests always ask "how come your toilet paper smells so nice"? LOL

For POLISHING wood:
It's easy to make "oil soap" with a bar of high-fat soap (like olive oil soap) and water.  Just grate the soap with a fine grater (don't inhale the dust) and add an equal amount of water.  Let sit in a glass jar overnight, and it will make a jelly-like mixture.

Take about a tablespoon to a quarter cup of this soap jelly and add it to a bucket of water.  You can use this for any polishing that you would normally use Murphys.  Always dry your wood immediately after cleaning.

For daily dusting:
1 TBSP olive oil
20 drops of Orange or Lemon Oil
1/4 cup white vinegar
Fill the bottle with distilled water.  Shake, spray, dust!  This also works well on dry floor dust mops.

For Vaccuum:

Put 5 drops of Eucalyptus or your fav oil onto a cotton makeup remover pad and put into your cannister.  Also, you can put another makeup remover pad with oil in your car hidden under the seat to keep it smelling nice!

For Air-Freshener or Linen Spray (you can use Lavendar, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine depending on your mood).  I use the same blend/spray for airfreshener and my linens.

In a 4oz fine mist spray bottle (also from Dollar Store)
Add 30-40 drops of Lavendar (or your fav oil)
1.5 oz distilled water
1.5 oz alcohol (Vodka or mineral alcohol - do not use rubbing alcohol)
If you don't want to use alcohol, use 3oz distilled water.  The alcohol will make the fragrance linger longer.  If you have family members sensitive to smell, add 20 drops first, let stand overnight and then shake well and see how you like it.  The aroma can change after its had time to sit.  Shake well before each use.  Mist your sheets or spray in the air to freshen your home!

In the Dryer put a few drops of your fav oil or Lavender Oil onto a towel and throw into the dryer with your other clothes.

A few drops of lemon oil on a stain will remove it prior to washing.

Keep your oils in a dry, cool place.  Keep your cleaning products labeled under the sink.  Even though they may not be poisonous, please keep out of reach of children.
Once you start using your products you might want to even "create" your own blend to make cleaning even more enjoyable LOL.  If you want more info on what "goes" together I can help you out - there are no hard and fast rules but some scents blend better together than others Smiley

You're welcome Pixie and Gingi.  I wished I lived closer to everyone too.  I'd be having a field day helping everyone clean.  I am in my glory (seriously!!) when I am cleaning LOL

Pixie, you don't need lots of oils, just a few basics so I am glad you have them.  Smiley

Let me know how it works out for you if you try some of them!  Smiley  I've made them for my neighbors and they all really like them and USE them!

They sound really good Jacquie, I use similar but use vinegar instead of water as it has more cleaning power and also disinfects.  What's with the daily dusting  Grin Grin lucky if I do that once a week!!!!  Your house must smell really inviting.

LOL Peach...I was just trying to differentiate between a wood "polisher", vs a wood duster!  Smiley  I knew as I typed it that you would get a laugh out of it!  Smiley

I add 40 drops of lavender to 1 gallon of distilled water for my iron too when I do my "daily" LOL ironing.

Peach, I'll take a pic of the cupboard I keep SOME of my oils and candles in LOL  You'll get a kick out of it.

Hope your day is going well, Peachie xx

LOL Jacquie, you making me laugh. Would love to see your oils cupboard.

If you ever move back to oz and if you are in Sydney I'll pay you to come clean my house for me.  Grin A lady that was teaching at the green home course I went to, started her own green house cleaning service and before she left the house she would spray one of the oils all around the door and when the owners came home from work that would be the first thing that the would notice and say 'arrr Mary has been here today'.  Her business grew so big that she had to employ 2 more people.  If I liked housework I would think about starting a buss like that Roll Eyes

Peach - I'll clean it for you no worries Smiley   I used to clean my hairdressers house every week - up until Nov 2006 and then I hurt my back soooo badly and thats why I am STILL going to my chiro for maintenance.  I used to clean his house and he'd do my hair/highlights/manicures/all beauty treatments etc for FREE!  I swear I was on the better end of that deal LOL  Although I did organize both his old house, and then move him into his new house and then clean that house etc but STILL!!  Now I don't do his house and let me tell you I cannot afford to get my hair done as frequently as I did Sad  oh well.

If my back wasn't bad I would DEFINITELY go into cleaning or probably more likely organizing.  I did every classroom down at my daughters school the year before last.  First two teachers then the others heard about it and signed up LOL.  To this day they are still calling me and asking me to come and do their classrooms when they move classes LOL

That would have been a good deal.....fair exchange....

I should be off doing the house work now instead of playing on the puter.  I put the dishwasher on before I sat down then when dh came home I went out to make lunch and the d/washer was still going but the dial hadn't moved.  Mine is a mobile one so I have to attached it to the tap each time which I had done but hadn't turned the tap on....derrr

Hi Jacquie,

Thanks so much for giving us some of your cleaning recipes.  I use white vinegar to clean several things and baking soda for others.  I haven't used the essential oils for several years and I'm not sure why I stopped since I love the smell of the lemon and orange so much.  This has reminded me to do something nice for myself, like taking the time to add those nice smells to my cleaning again.  I could use their mood boosting smells!
